On April 29, also known as Giving Day, the Milwaukee Public Museum gifted 4,000 free memberships to local families. Memberships were given to 184 families from the Hmong American Peace Academy, while 189 went to those from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.
“It’s an opportunity to enrich the lives of our young people, given the fact 95% of our students live below the poverty line, particularly during this COVID-19 situation,” said Chris Her-Xiong, executive director and founder of HAPA.
